The Pink Ladies took to Vale roads in their flower, balloon and ribbon adorned tractors to raise money for breast cancer research.

Lin Pelling arranged the 23-mile tractor run which started and finished in Weedon with 15 women driving 14 tractors through nine villages.

“It was great fun,” said Mrs Pelling who lives in Westcott. “A lot of people in cars waved and smiled, and in the villages people came out of their homes to see us.”

The tractor run started from Sally James’ yard after everyone enjoyed a fabulous breakfast – then broke for a toilet break, tea, coffee, cakes and bacon rolls in Granborough at the home of Joy and Colin Beckett.

Janet Fincher helped Mrs Pelling to arrange the route and led the tractors throughout the journey.

Money was collected on the day and from sponsorship.
