A medical aesthetic clinic in Thame has provided a welcome boost to a national nursing charity after asking patients to support it as part of International Nurses’ Day.

The Medical Beauty Nurses Services (MBNS) Clinic in Thame created a display about Cavell Nurses’ Trust earlier this month and invited patients to donate any spare change.

A total of £76.48 was raised, but the clinic rounded this up to make a total donation of £125.

MBNS, which provides treatment for all areas of skin health and anti-ageing, said it wanted to do its bit for nurses everywhere as part of International Nurses’ Day.

MBNS chose Cavell Nurses’ Trust as its charity after clinic director Marea Brennan Thorns and nurse prescriber Adrian Baker heard student nurse Molly Case recite a moving poem she had written about her caring role at the Royal College of Nursing congress in April.

Clinic coordinator Angela Hunt said: “It made them very emotional and when Nurses’ Day was discussed, they put it to the team for our charity to be a nurse benevolent charity.”
