A charity shop is opening a specialist bridal wear service to match donated wedding gowns with brides to be be.
The Rennie Grove Hospice Care (formerly Iain Rennie) shop in Princes Risborough will launch the department on Wednesday.
Its upstairs area has been transformed into a special wedding parlour.
As well as wedding dresses there will be a choice of accessories such as veils, shoes, tiaras and jewellery.
Lesley Blencowe, director of retail and trading at Rennie Grove, said: “As wedding dresses are usually only worn once, the majority of the items donated to us are of great quality and are offered at really good prices.
“In addition, we’re hoping that brides will be attracted by the personal service we offer and by the fact that any purchases made using our new service will help care for local patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.”
She also wants brides to consider donating gowns.
“There is no doubt that weddings are very special days but we have our memories and photographs and we don’t necessarily need to keep our dresses and accessories. “
