A popular hair salon is to bid farewell to Aylesbury after more than 30 years in town.
Capilla Unisex survived the closure of the Friars Square Cloisters last year but now further development is forcing it out.
Work to convert the old council offices into flats above the salon means it will have to go and has so far been given nowhere else to move to.
Anna Sasso, who has run Capilla for 34 years, said: “There has been no offer of temporary accommodation so we have no choice but to close down. It’s a very sad time for staff and clients.
“Over the years we have been able to offer all aspects of hairdressing, something which in many salons these days is unavailable.
“Both clients and staff are going to miss the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the salon which we have become well known for.”
The salon, which employs six people, was relocated in the early 90s while development took place at Friars Square, remaining at its current location for 21 years.
Ms Sasso and her staff thanked customers for their loyalty over the years, adding: “We are just so sorry it has had to finish so suddenly.”
The salon is due to close on June 29.
Town centre manager Diana Fawcett said she would be happy to meet with the business and discuss it taking over a vacant site.
