District councillors today unanimously voted against three separate applications submitted by Hallam Land.
Developers had submitted plans for 120 homes, employment facilities and a park and ride at the Weedon Hill site.
They had also asked to build 220 homes on the same site, a plan which would also have included a park and ride.
However, issues were raised over damage to the surrounding environment and the impact on traffic levels.
Speaking at the planning committee meeting, Weedon parish councillor Joanna Rose said: “We feel the whole development would cause significant harm.”
Following a debate, all councillors voted against the plans. However, the plans for 120 homes will now be decided by a government inspector at an appeal.
The committee will this afternoon discuss plans to build 3,000 homes between Weston Turville and Bedgrove, an application which is also due to be decided on by the Planning Inspectorate.
