Clothing shop Monsoon is to close its Friars Square store later this month.
The retailer is coming to the end of its lease in Aylesbury and has decided not to renew it.
Monsoon refused to confirm if there were any specific reasons for the closure.
However, the door is open for the store return in the future, with Friars Square management in discussions with the company’s bosses.
Andy Margieson, Friars Square centre manager, said it was disappointing to lose the retailer.
He said: “It’s one of those things that is one step backwards, two steps forwards.
“There’s other developments happening behind the scenes.
“It’s not an end of the world scenario.
“A lot of shopping centres and towns are going through what we are going through at the moment.
“But we have got light at the end of the tunnel with the development plans that are progressing.”
A new glass pavilion is currently being built in Friars Square which will house Topshop and other stores. It is expected to open in October.
