An aesthetic nurse has received a lift of her own after being recognised as the best in the country at an awards ceremony in London.

Pioneering nurse Marea Brennan Thorns runs the MBNS Clinc in Thame and was thrilled to receive her aesthetic nurse award from the British Journal of Nursing last Friday.

After receiving the award from Esther Rantzen the nurse said: “Thank you for this award which I accept on behalf of all independent nurses committed to good nursing practice.

“In particular to my teams at MBNS and Qutis Advanced Skin Clinics who nominated me and who are all award winners in the eyes of the patients they have served for the last 14 years.

“The field of aesthetic medicine is full of extraordinary nurse entrepreneurs, many of whom have religiously stuck with the vision that nurses can be leaders, nurses can be business owners and nurses can combine all of these things and still have their patients at the heart of all that they do.”

The nurse now trains many doctors, dentists and other nurses in injection techniques for lip enhancement, facial lines, facial sculpting and lifting of the face.

Her clinic in Thame specialises in hair removal, botox and skin rejuvenation and is one of three in Oxon, Witney and Abingdon.
