A man needed hospital treatment after five thieves broke into a house and assaulted him before stealing a safe and a set of car keys.
Two men have since been arrested in connection with the incident, one of whom has been charged with aggravated burglary.
The incident took place in Princes Risborough at about 11.30pm on Thursday, police said today (Monday).
The criminals kicked in the door of the Northfield Road home and attacked the 26-year-old victim. The man’s face was injured and he was treated at Wycombe General Hospital before being discharged.
After taking the safe and car keys the crooks drove away in a small black vehicle. They were all black and wearing dark clothing.
Jermaine Richards of Tintern Avenue, London, has been charged with aggravated burglary in connection with the incident. He is due to appear at Aylesbury Magistrates Court on March 4.
A 24-year-old man from Corby has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary. He has been released on bail until April 4.
