Thame Town Council has welcomed two new co-opted members.
Adrian Dite and Linda Emery were both selected at a meeting of the full council on Tuesday .
The pair will both serve until the end of the council’s current term in 2015.
Their duties will include attending and organising community events, forming a view on planning applications and helping decide which organisations should receive grants.
Mr Dite is semi-retired and has lived in the Thame area since 1980. His children attended schools in the area.
He says he is ‘particularly interested in supporting the high street area and keeping the town alive’.
He believes his strengths lie in ‘events, sports and leisure management’.
He is no stranger to serving on a council, having previously spent six years on Ickford Parish Council.
Fellow new councillor Linda Emery has watched Thame continue to change since she was a child.
She regularly visited the town because her grandmother lived in nearby Chinnor. Ms Emery has lived in Thame since 2009.
She has a business background and is already well known to many in the town through her fundraising work with the Rotary club.
She is also a member of the Montesson Twinning Committee.
The town council has wished the new councillors ‘every success’ in the future.
