Thame Hurricanes were feeling a little rusty at the start of their netball match against Crendon and it showed as they went down 18-15.
Thame started slow and steady and tried to settle into the game but Crendon kept in touch as the first quarter ended 5 – 5.
The second quarter began a little more relaxed as the Hurricanes eased into the game to give themselves a two goal lead after the second quarter.
The third quarter was hard fought with some terrific play in centre court with Nicole expertly intercepting Crendon’s passing. Again thhe quarter ended with Hurricanes still two goals to the good.
The final quarter turned out to be the straw that broke the camel’s back with the Hurricanes going into panic mode. A combination of rushed and inaccurate passes and poor closing down from Thame led to frequent Crendon turnovers and easy shooting opportunities as the away side somehow managed to snatch victory.
