On Monday the entire seven-strong committee of Wendover Theatre Society will stand down to allow a new group to take charge.
It is hoped an enthusiastic team of five theatre fans will take over the running of the society, which was founded in the 70s.
Chairman Carol Blake, of Wendover, reinvigorated the group 10 years ago using a £1,000 grant from the Wendover Trust.
She said: “I’m still going to be involved. I re-started the group after it had been in limbo for a couple of years, but the theatre society has been around for a long time. We are still a strong club membership wise, getting about 150 people to some of our performances.
“For me, its been a heartfelt journey, its been my baby if you like. It wasn’t an easy decision to step to one side. But I have been involved in drama for 30 years and it’s time to stay on the outside and let someone else have a go.”
The group stage three shows a year, rehearsing weekly in the run-up to each one at Halton Village Hall. In June the society intend to join other amateur dramatic groups from the area for a festival, which in 2012 was held in Bierton.
It also stages an Autumn play in September and its popular panto in January – which this year was called Santa In Space.
Mrs Blake, 62, a part-time administrator, hairdresser and therapist, said: “I just want to give someone else a go and have some fresh input and get a different view on things. We would all wish them the best of luck. “
The annual general meeting, where the current seven-strong committee will stand down, takes place on Monday from 7.30pm at Halton Village Hall.
