The Vale’s most famous print maker has been invited to become the artist in residence at The Museum of Nature in Art in Gloucestershire.
Laura Boswell, of Winslow, is best known for creating Europe’s largest enamel artwork at Aylesbury Bus Station.
She will take up her latest role throughout May, when she will pass on her skills and also exhibit work.
“I’m quite excited and I’m really looking forward to it as it gives me a chance to work with the public , who can come and watch me which I enjoy,” she said.
“They also have school trips around the museum and the youngsters will get to meet me and ask about what I do and see how a print is created.”
Mrs Boswell’s images of Bucks were recently chosen by the House of Lords’ art committee to represent the county in Parliament’s permanent art collection.
The 47 year old, who is currently creating artwork for the NHS on the Isle of Wight, has also enjoyed residencies in places from Japan to London.
“The Japanese-style print making that I do isn’t very well known but it’s very accessible,” she said.
“It doesn’t need a big printing press, it’s done on a table top. It means I can allow people to have a play themselves and give it a go.”
Mrs Boswell, alongside husband Ben, took over the running of the annual Bucks Open Studios fortnight in 2012 – where last year 500 artists got the chance to showcase what they do.
“What we did was make it bigger in terms of numbers of studios open and visitor numbers were up,” Mrs Boswell added.
“I think we helped to raise the profile of the event and we plan for that to continue.”
This year’s Open Studios runs June 8-23.
