Almost 1,000 animals will be sold at Thame Market Christmas Show and Sale today (Friday).
Farmers from across the country will meet at the livestock market for the annual show.
Market staff have put in an immense amount of preparation for the annual sale, which is popular with farmers and the general public alike.
Rosettes and prize money will be awarded to the best single beast and the best pen of four or more steers and heifers is to be judged by Mr Williamson from Ulverstone
in Cumbria.
Auctioneer Scott Ruck said: “We are expecting a very good trade, with local buyers as well as buyers coming from up north.
“We have some big lots from local farmers, and they are particularly good quality for the time of year.”
More than 700 head of store and breeding cattle are included in the sale, which starts with the sale of store sheep, pigs and calves at 10.30am.
The sale of breeding and store cattle will get under way at 11am.
Aberdeen Angus, British Blue, Charolais, Hereford, Limousin, Longhorn and Simmental cattle are all included in the sale, as well as a full dispersal sale of The Greinan Herd of pedigree Longhorn cattle from Mr Blayney from Chipperfield.
Lots include 30 calves and reared calves; 23 in-calf or feeding cows; 13 pedigree Longhorn cows and heifers; five stock bulls; 10 cows and calves; and 618 suckled calves and feeding cattle.
More than 200 store lambs are also being sold.
