Chinnor will be looking to string together two successive wins when they make the trip for a mid-table clash with Clifton on Saturday (kick-off 2.30pm)

The black-and-whites have made an impressive start to life in SSE National League 2 South this season and coach Jason Bowers said he expects a tough game against the south west side, who lie a place below them in eighth.

He said: “They have got a young side and they score quite a few. But they also tend to concede quite a few too.

“They like to try and play a bit so I think both sides will be going for it. It’s going to be quite a close one.”

Chinnor have had an extra week off since their 22-5 win over Southend and Bowers said he did use the break to give some of the players on the bench a run out in the second team’s 28-20 win over Henley last weekend.

He also added that they had used the training session on Tuesday night to ‘tweak a few things for the game’.

However, he did say at this time of year he preferred just to focus on his own team and not the opposition.

“We have played almost everybody in the league now. We don’t need to be scared of anyone we have played.

“We have shown we can compete and we are full of confidence.

“The club could not be in a better position.”
