The funeral of a former chairman of a charity which provides care for orphans and struggling children in Kenya takes places on Friday.
Bill Murphy, who led Aylesbury charity Karibuni from 1995 to 2009 died at the age of 82.
His wife, Joy, said: “I don’t remember him having a selfish bone in his body.”
Mr Murphy helped set up the charity with his daughter Corrine and under his leadership the charity went from small beginnings to helping more than 1,200 children in 14 different projects.
He regularly visited the African country and Joy said he just ‘got on with his life’.
Mr Murphy leaves behind Joy and their four children, Craig, Andrew, David and Corrine.
His funeral will take place this Friday with a thanksgiving service following it at Aylesbury Methodist Church at 2pm.
