Free parking is being offered to Vale Christmas shoppers in a bid to encourage more people to pick up gifts in the area.
The district council says the move aims to get people to take advantage of what it calls ‘excellent’ mix of independent and high street shops on offer.
Parking will be free in Aylesbury every Thursday evening from 4.30pm until December 20 and in Wendover and Winslow all day on December 15.
Councillor Brian Roberts, cabinet member for civic amenities, said: “This is one way the district council can help support local businesses.
“In the current economic climate it is important that we support local traders and not only encourage our residents to shop locally but also encourage others to travel into the area and spend their money and experience the wonder of Aylesbury Vale at Christmas time.
“I really hope people take advantage of this offer to help stimulate shopping in our towns. Everyone will benefit, from residents to traders.”
A similar scheme has been introduced by Aylesbury Vale District Council in previous years.
