Rally planned as Royal Bucks Hospital staff go unpaid again

Workers at the closing Royal Bucks Hospital have gone unpaid for the third time and some are unsure when they will receive redundancy money.

Staff on ‘gardening leave’ have yet to get their October wages and union representative Steve Bell said they are becoming ‘exceedingly angry’ with the situation.

Unison is planning a rally in Aylesbury to protest against how staff have been treated.

Patients are no longer being seen at the hospital, with most nurses and support staff on leave. As revealed in the Bucks Herald, the private facility is to close after failing to make ends meet.

This is the third time since the closure was announced that staff have gone unpaid and Mr Bell, secretary of the Bucks health branch of Unison, said: “As a union we won’t give up until these workers have received what is rightfully theirs.”

The rally is starting in Kingsbury Square at 11am on Saturday before making its way to the railway club.
