Mentmore resident and former BBC Radio 1 star David Lee Travis has been bailed after he was arrested on suspicion of sexual offences by police.

Mr Travis, 67, is the fourth suspect to be arrested in the Metropolitan Police’s investigation into the Jimmy Savile sex abuse scandal.

The other three, Gary Glitter, Freddie Starr and former BBC producer Wilfred De’ath have also been bailed as part of Operation Yewtree.

The former Radio 1 Breakfast Show host has previously denied allegations of sexual assault and is set to appear before police again on an unconfirmed date in January.

Mr Travis was arrested at 7.45am yesterday and taken into Aylesbury Police Station for questioning before being released.

A spokesman for the police has confirmed that a man in his 60s has been bailed as part of investigations into the Jimmy Savile abuse scandal.
