The inaugural Thame Rotary Art Show has been hailed as a great success.

The two-day event, organised by the Rotary Club of Thame, showcased the work of more than 40 artists and sculptors from the area.

More than £600 was raised throughout the weekend for charities and it will be an annual occasion for the town.

Works on display included portraits of famous faces and scenic outdoor scenes.

Former Mayor of Thame and rotarian Jeannette Matelot Green said all those taking part in the November 3 and 4 event agreed ‘the venue could not be better’. Any artist interested in exhibiting in next year’s show should get in touch with organisers via the official website at www.thame.rotaryweb.org

Rotary clubs are open to people who are business, professional and community leaders wanting to use their experience to the benefit of others.
