Thousands of street lights and illuminated signs and bollards across Bucks are being repaired to brighten up the county ahead of the dark winter nights.
The work by Transport for Bucks follows a county-wide night-time survey which identified around 3,500 items needing repair, including faulty lights, signs and bollards.
The surveys can only be carried out at night when faults can easily be seen and another inspection will be done during January and February.
Councillor Peter Hardy, cabinet member for planning and transport, said: “We have a great team who are doing a wonderful job working to repair these faults for the winter season.
“They’ve completed over 1,300 repairs already, only another 2,200 to go before Christmas.”
In total, 2,127 street lights, 1,123 illuminated signs and 342 illuminated bollards were identified as requiring repair.
