More than 190 people took part in a Zumbathon to raise funds for Thame brain injury victim Alex Woods.
The massive dance-style exercise session, organised by local trainers, raised an impressive £3,500 for Making Waves for Alex.
Sandra Brooks, who runs Zumba classes and helped on the day, said: “It was an amazing afternoon with 192 people joining in the Zumbathon.
“We raised £3,500 – which by far exceeded any of our expectations.
“Everyone I have managed to speak to thoroughly enjoyed the event.
“It was lovely that Alex’s wife Tamsyn and her children also managed to come along for the last half hour and be involved.
“I think it was safe to say that Tamsyn was completely overwhelmed by the amount of people there and the amount of support she and Alex received.”
The event was held in aid of Alex Wood and his family to support his recovery from a tragic rugby accident. Alex is being moved from Oxford to Amersham next week to continue his rehabilitation and the family are still very much in need of help and support.
